Chapter 97 Daily Life (Part 2)

    "Golden venoms!"

Amos Diggory's junior, Nymphadora Tonks, her face changed abruptly. Her imposing eyebrows trembled continuously, and her eyes widened as she stared into the night sky, which contained nothing but a full moon. She breathed heavily in haste.

"Is that the black witch who killed a lot of werewolves and almost killed Greyback in the Underworld?"

The Golden Viper floating in the air almost twisted his nose. If not for the contract signed when accepting the mission, which stipulated that no member of their temporary team should harm each other, he might have dealt a heavy blow to Thanatos directly!

This fool, is he afraid that the Ministry of Magic won't take notice of him?

    "Shut up, fool!"

A residual shadow passes by, and the Golden Viper lands on the ground from half a space, drinking sharply at the Taranatos who was still shouting for help. Following that, his cold and fierce eyes sweep over the group of Aurors opposite. For a moment only, he looks at the face of Tonks before distorting the magic whirlpool behind his face, flashing an imperceptible smile.

Amos Diggory is two years senior to Tonks. This cheerful girl was very popular with the boys at school, because she was a natural Metamorphagus, capable of easily changing her appearance. Such pleasure... cough cough, such talent, is very rare and interesting!

In fact, she used to particularly like mimicking the faces of the professors during her school days. For this reason, she was confined to the classroom by several professors, including Snape. Amos Diggory had been 'in charge' of her for a while during the fifth grade's final term. Although they didn't consider themselves friends, they could be considered acquaintances.

However, since Amos Diggory graduated from Hogwarts, he has not kept in touch with any of his fellow students.

Including Scrimgeour, everyone who was swept by the Golden Viper's gaze felt like they had been drenched in a bucket of cold water. The coldness extended from the outside to the soul. Most of the Aurors present were experienced professionals who had been through life-and-death situations many times before. They all had a strong intuition for danger, and they could feel that the mysterious witch in front of them was stronger than all those weaklings they had just defeated!

    "I can't breathe..."

Tonks' eyes were startled, and she was drenched with sweat on her forehead. She discreetly patted her chest and whispered, breathing heavily.

"Quick...go to Hogwarts and ask Albus Dumbledore!"

    "Shut up, Tonks!"

"Strong-willed" Scrimgeour sternly glared at Tonks. He responded to the Golden Viper's calm gaze with a stern look, but a thought storm was raging in his mind. He had to admit that he had overstepped in this operation. He never expected such dangerous people among these smugglers!

"Can you all pretend as if you haven't seen us tonight?"

A hoarse, aged voice came from behind the twisted vortex, sounding relatively polite, but anyone could tell that such a tone was manipulated by magic.

There were many Aurors present, but only one had the authority to make decisions. Rufus knew that the Golden Viper's words were directed at him, and he was well aware that if he gave a negative response, this black wizard who had several times faced off against the brutish werewolves and even almost wiped out Greyback and his pack of dozens would not continue his polite request with a smile.

The underworld under the streets has always been a very headache-inducing existence for successive Ministry of Magic teams.

On one hand, most of the wizards who operate there are school-of-thought wizards. Although Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has been the main platform for magical inheritance education for hundreds of years, these school-of-thought wizards have an even more distant history, dating back to the times before Merlin and Camelot.

Wizards revere tradition, and if the Ministry of Magic decides to exterminate the wizards in the underworld, they may find very limited support. Moreover, a significant portion of the existing sacred Twenty-Eight Families in the magical world have intricate connections with the forces in the underworld, which will also bring considerable resistance.

Additionally, there is an important point. Although the Department of Magical Law Enforcement has been secretly collecting information on active wizards in the underworld for many years and has indeed dealt with some 'small fry,' they have yet to find a way to deal with some powerful individuals.

For example, Greyback committed heinous crimes beyond counting, but over the years, the Ministry of Magic has been unable to catch him. And as for this vicious figure who almost 'wiped out' the werewolves -- the Golden Viper!

"The Ministry of Magic will not bow to evil."

Scrimgeour's face was stern, and his sharp yellow eyes were tinted with red. He raised his wand coldly and said.

    "Leave this place-"

Ginny Weasley pulled Tonks' robe discreetly, speaking without drawing attention.

"Go to the Ministry for support, or as you said, go to Hogwarts to ask Dumbledore for help. Move as fast as you can, Tonks. We can't guarantee how long we can hold out--"

Before Tonks could reply, the Golden Viper's hoarse voice had already carried over.

"That's all I can say, gentlemen..."

    "Attack!"

Scrimgeour suddenly bellowed out, and instantly, the enchantment bursting from the wands of the Aurors shone as brightly as fireworks, illuminating the night sky like a brilliant blue.

A silver flash appeared in the agitated air, its one-flash-and-forgetful, desolate and brilliant light easily suppressed the colorful spells, the piercing hum that could break eardrums making the space shake violently!

The fight ended quickly, it could even be said that it was completed in an instant.

Taranthus looked at the group of fallen Aurors, lying on the ground with blood leaking from their ears and noses, and silently opened his mouth.

Amos Diggory walked over to the group of Aurors, and the tip of his wand sprayed out a mist of shimmering silver threads. These silver misty vaporizers between reality and fantasy floated towards the Aurors and entered their brains from their temple positions.

"What are you doing, Golden Viper... I think we'd better not kill them. It would cause us a lot of..."

"I am dealing with the trouble you fool has brought me!"

Ginny Weasley, who was busy weaving memories, turned and gave Taranathos a cold look.

Taranathos seemed to want to defend himself, but considering the strength displayed by Golden Viper, he didn't say anything. He nervously squirmed his neck and glanced down at the scattered bones of the dragon lying on the ground. His face twisted in pain as he swore profusely.

The rest of his companions were soon awakened, and with Taranathos' explanation, they all understood who had saved them from prison.

"Everyone needs to pay me a quarter of the profits from this mission as a reward, and you, Taranathos, you need to hand over five-tenths."

The Golden Viper's calm words caused great dissatisfaction among his comrades. They loudly protested against his domineering, only Taranathos remained silent. It was not because he was a person who kept his promises, but because he had witnessed the Golden Viper's decisive defeat of the Aurors, he thought it would be better to avoid stirring up trouble with this dangerous character.

"Even if we don't give, you can't do anything to us, Golden Viper! You can't harm us; that would break the contract!"

Among the angry crowd, there was a smart guy who angrily shouted, and his words also reminded others.

"No one asked for your help, Golden Viper! You are being self-serving!"

Someone else said coldly, smiling sarcastically.

For this scene, the Golden Viper was not surprised. He had not been so naive as to expect these people without a bottom line to be grateful to him.

    "I really cannot attack you--"

The Golden Viper conjured a magical barrier that emitted a white glow, enclosing everyone inside and leaving him standing outside of it.

With a condescending laugh, Golden Viper spoke lightly, "The contract is the contract. It is legal for me to take this amount of money from you."

"But I can wake up these Aurors. I think they would be pleased to see you all turn yourselves in voluntarily..."
