"Did they know each other?"
George was somewhat surprised to see Akane Tsunemori and the boy acquainted, but from her expression, it seemed she wasn't very familiar with him either.
"What's going on now?"
Kanbaru Takumi asked the white-haired girl wearing the discipline committee badge, Raito Kiritsugu.
Akane Tsunemori saw that Mikiyaji knew Shichisaka Mao and did not try to conceal it:
"There are terrorists active in the underground mall, and the guards have gone to stop them. However, this could lead to a large-scale fight, so I need to take the trapped people away first. After all, I have the ability of space transportation."
"Then let's take them away first, and I'll go help out with the guards."
Mikiyaji pointed to the two girls behind him.
Mikiyaji nodded.
"You can only take two at a time. First take them out, then go look for other trapped people. Me and Shichisaka Takuma will go support the guards."
She has fought against Shichisaka Mao and knows that although he is a Level 0 ability user, his right hand has a special effect that can negate any super ability.
He can pull even the most powerful opponents down to a level where they can only fight with bare fists.
He lost to her in a one-on-one fight just like that before.
"Impossible."
Indy was about to object when Akane Tsunemori had already teleported away with the two.
George, seeing this, did not follow them with a teleportation. Since he knew Indy's name, it would be too easy to find her in the future.
George wanted to see what level the mage who attacked the school was, so as to determine the strength of mages in this world.
George snuck up behind Takuma and Mikiyaji, following them towards the direction where gunshots rang out. Soon, they arrived at the battlefield where the guards and mages were battling.
However, the battle here was already over; the guards were sprawled on the ground, while the mage showed no damage.
The mage was a woman in her mid-twenties, dressed in a Gothic-style black skirt, with fluffy and disheveled golden hair like a lion's mane and chocolate-colored skin.
She held a candlestick made of oil, standing in front of a stone giant formed by magic, about five meters tall.
"Ah, you're the Fantastica killer. Where is your host key from the Unseen University?"
The female mage smiled upon seeing Takuma:
"But it doesn't matter; killing you will have the same effect!"
"What kind of person are you, and why did you attack here?"
Mikiyaji walked out from behind Takuma and asked with a coin in hand:
"Come clean, or you won't get off so easily this time."
"Annoying, another level 5 esper like you, I don't have time to waste on you. It seems that killing the key to the Unseen University is simpler, or killing the Index is also fine."
Seeing Mikiyaji, the female mage's expression changed slightly, and she drew a magic circle directly on the ground.
"My name is Shirley Crovel, from the British Puritan Order. I came here to ignite a war!"
The magic circle on the ground burst into brilliant light, exploding in place to create a deep hole that went all the way down to the subway tunnel seven or eight meters below.
"Now that she's escaped, she must not be as strong as Mikiyaji."
George's figure flashed, and he jumped into the hole. Then he quickly followed the female mage called Shirly.
As for Mikiyaji and Takuma, the stone giant blocked their view. When they realized it, they could no longer see Shirly's silhouette.
"Floating Art!"
For a while, she escaped in the subway passageway, drawing the same magic circle as before, creating an opening that led to the street above. Then she floated out of the passage with her floating magic.
"You won't get away."
Quickly drawing out magic circles around her, the eyes from the underground tunnel appeared again and scattered.
Within less than a minute, she had pinpointed the target location and rushed towards it.
"Does magic in this world only work when the magic circle is drawn in advance? Or is this just her unique way of casting spells?"
George continued to follow, still in wonder.
Five minutes later, on the side of a street, George followed Shirly to see Indi and another girl named Fengzhǎn Binghua.
"The Index and the key to the Unseen University, one magic and one science; killing you both is perfect."
Shirly stood in front of Indi and Fengzhǎn Binghua, drawing a magic circle on the ground while chanting:
"Goddess, God's medicine, God's power, God's fire! Symbol of the four heavens of the four directions, correctly configure and guide the correct power in the right direction!"
With the incantation complete, the five-meter-tall stone giant appeared again.
"Come out, Elise, kill them all!"
The stone giant raised its massive fist and struck towards Indi and Fengzhǎn Binghua.
George, hidden nearby, did not rush to save them and instead continued to observe.
He thought that the two girls should not be ordinary.
One has all the magic books in the world in her head, while the other is not human at all, feeling more like an aggregation of energy.
"Compulsory Incantation: Twist to the Right!"
As the stone giant's fist approached, Indi immediately recited the incantation.
With her incantation taking effect, the stone giant's fist suddenly swerved to the right and hit the wall.
Shirly did not seem surprised upon seeing this:
"No wonder the Index, it seems to be able to see through my spell at once and even interfere with my control over Elise."
As a British Puritan, she was well aware of the Index's intelligence about Indi, knowing that Indi had over 10,000 magical books in her head and that her specialty in Kabbalah is included in those books.
Just now, Indi had used the compulsory incantation to interfere with her control over the stone giant, causing the giant to receive incorrect instructions and perform a wrong attack action.
"But as long as I don't control her, you can't interfere, can you?"
The stone giant created by Kabbalah spell can be controlled by the mage to attack, but it can also attack freely. They are not completely lacking in intelligence.
In that case, Indi's compulsory incantation would no longer have any effect.
As expected, when the stone giant came charging again, Indi's interference had no effect.
At this moment, Fengzhǎn Binghua charged forward and blocked in front of Indi.
Taking a direct hit from the stone giant, Fengzhǎn Binghua was not hurled away but shattered halfway like glass, with no blood and only an underlying glow of energy.
"How can this be?"
Fengzhǎn Binghua was stunned by her own condition, but Shirly on the other side did not seem surprised, but her face showed a mocking expression:
"Don't you forget that you're just a manufactured monster; do you really think of yourself as human?"
"I am a monster!"
Fengzhǎn Binghua's memories quickly recovered. She remembered that she was actually the collection of AIM diffusion fields generated naturally by two million and three hundred thousand students with extraordinary abilities in the school city, and not a real human being.
